Information and Support

Information and Support is exactly as is sounds... providing information and support on absolutely ANYTHING you need help with!

Whether you need support with numeracy and literacy, getting a job or getting into uni, developing life and personal skills, looking for something to do in your spare time of just a chat... Information and Support is here for you!!! And no subject is off limits!

SKILLS & AWARDS

Practical help is available for young people who want to develop their literacy, numeracy and job search skills. Emotional support is available for young people who are in distress or feel they would like to talk to someone in confidence.

The team are available six days a week and will work with young people on a wide range of subjects.

COUNSELING

Counseling is available to any young person who wants to explore and understand any issues in their life which may be causing difficulty, pain and/or confusion.

The Project's qualified counsellor runs weekly one-to-one sessions in a private counseling suite.

FUNDING

There are loads of funding opportunities for young people. A few of the main funders that we work with are...

Prince's Trust
Prince's Trust funding of up to £500 is available for anyone aged 14-25 years who need to buy equipment or pay for course fees to further their education and/or get a job.

Key Fund
Key Fund is available to groups of 3 or more young people aged 11-25 years. To be eligible for the funding, members of the group must work together to develop their ideas and demonstrate some key group work skills. There are 4 stages of progression from £250 to £2000.

Youth Opportunity Fund
The funding is available to groups of young people aged 13-19 years to plan and organise community events.

CONNEXIONS

The Project's Connexions PA offers advice and guidance on a range of subjects including jobs, training, health (including sexual health), housing and any other issues that may be affecting you!

Connexions is available on a Wednesday and Friday in the Berwick Youth Project and on a Thursday Night at
Wooler Drop-In. And on the first and third Wednesday on each month at Belford Youth Club.

Connexions is also available at Berwick High School and at their main office on the Chandlery.
C:CARD

C:Card is a FREE and confidential condom service for young people aged 13 - 25 years (Year 9 and upwards).

Once you have your c:card it is quick and easy to get free condoms at the Project, at the Union Brae Surgery and the Family Planning Clinic.

To register, we don't need your name or address, just your initials, date of birth and the first part of your postcode. You can come in on your own or with a small group of friends to register and get your card.

You can access the c:card service at Berwick Youth Project during opening hours and at Wooler Drop-in on a Thursday night.
